It’s been quite a bleak winter, with continuous rain since October, but hopefully with Spring arriving, we can all play a lot more tennis. We thought we’d let you know what is going on at the club this year and our plans for trying to attract new members.
Our numbers are down this year, due to various reasons. Many new members from last year unfortunately haven’t renewed due to leaving the island, the weather as well as a few existing members no longer able to play.
We are looking at a few incentives to bring new members to the club, including our Open Day on Sunday 19th April which we are actively advertising through facebook.
We are also looking at advertising to attract new members to try out our club events, such as those on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday and invite non members to come along and try out the sessions and pay a visitor fee of only £5. This will be offered to members of the GTC and La mare Tennis Club. They can play a maximum of 3 times and if they enjoy it, join after that.
Also, on the junior side we are looking to link up with private schools to deliver a few lunchtime sessions and hand out information and currently searching for a sponsor to start up a “Future Aces” for under 10’s with a t-shirt, racket etc.
There are going to be several social events as well this year, so please support your club.
Here’s to a great spring and summer.

Cafe Club
Sue, Tash and Lynn opened up Cafe Club this morning with bacon rolls and coffee at the usual Sunday Club tennis session.
It was a busy morning with 25 members playing in the fog.
